| Non-hosted Cocktails in Historic Places Join us for our monthly series (first Thursdays) of classic cocktails in grand architectural spaces. We meet each month at a different location for great conversation, fun drinks, and a brief history of the space. The current lobby of the Chesterfield Hotel, designed by Albert Anis in 1938, features the Safari Bar, a small cocktail lounge with zebra print windows treatments, African masks scattered along the walls, and lots of leopard print bar stools. The exotic nature of the African safari exerted a powerful influence on Art Deco architects and designers, so the Chesterfield's safari theme perfectly blends with its Streamline Moderne lobby. |
