Miguel Parades Mural Unveiling Reception
Famous Miami artist, Miguel Parades, generously created and donated a mural of two iconic South Beach buildings, the New Yorker and Senator. Both buildings were demolished despite MDPL’s hard fought battle to save them. However, the demolishment of the buildings helped create stricter historic preservation laws in Miami Beach. These buildings and the mural (now on display in the Art Deco Welcome Center) are near and dear to our hearts.
The reception took place on March 3, 2011 and honored Parades’ contribution to the MDPL and the Miami Beach community.
Art Deco Weekend Poster Unveiling Reception
The Poster Unveiling Reception was the kick-off celebration for Art Deco Weekend 2011. The Art Deco Weekend 2011 poster design was revealed and the design scholarships were handed out. It was a blast! Can’t wait for next year.
