Grab your pooch and join us for the second annual Arf Deco Weekend Dog Parade on Saturday 13 January at 12:00 noon.

It starts on the serpentine walk behind the Art Deco Welcome Center at Ocean Drive and 10th Street. Dress your dog up in a costume (and grab one for yourself!), or have him or her come au naturel.

Arf Deco Design Project
Elementary schhol children are invited to participate in the Arf Deco Design Project to promote the parade. The design must focus mostly on dogs but should include the tropical themes of Miami Beach and Ocean Drive. The design could also incorporate this year's theme: East Meets West: Art Deco from Shanghai to Miami.

Please keep in mind that the goal of this project is not only to get the children more involved with Art Deco Weekend, but also to entice dog owners to participate in the parade. The contest kicks off Friday, December 1, 2006 and closes on Wednesday, December 20, 2006. The winner will have the honor of their design printed on various Arf Deco promotional materials and they will receive a congratulatory goodie bag filled fun prizes. The winner will also have the distinction of riding in the Art Deco Weekend opening kick-off parade with accompanying family members as well as the school's Principal or other school representative.
